What a loss. Yet only the most brilliant of authors could put a smile on my face with the way in which he planned for the announcement of his death. For those who haven’t seen it, Terry Pratchett’s Twitter feed earlier read:

I won’t explain it. If you’re reading this, the chances are you’re a fan and you get it. Pure Brilliance. Is it wrong to say that I heard the news on the radio at work, and how there was a discoworld style tweet announcing the death, and all afternoon long I wanted to get home so I could read it? I wasn’t disappointed.

Terry Pratchett has left behind a rich legacy, and will live on as generations old and new discover his books.

Fans have a habit of leaving an author’s books in memorial places. If I had to leave a copy of one of his books in tribute, I’d leave Going Postal.
